So many things going on as Christmas draws closer and closer! Lots of obligations this week for the kids' schools and holiday parties as they get ready for Christmas break. Still way behind on gift shopping--thank heaven there is still one weekend left. So, for now, I'm juggling as best I can and ticking things off of lists.
First, regarding my header image: it's still gone. :( When it disappeared, I checked the Blogger Help center and found one other post with the same complaint. I posted a message saying that my photo had disappeared and that I could NOT make the original photo (or any other photo for that matter) appear again. Evidently, there are a LOT of bloggers with this problem (there are a lot more posts on this now). All the problems are the result of Blogger making a change that was supposed to make header images auto size themselves. Today, finally, Blogger posted an announcement saying they are working on a fix. So, when they fix whatever they did, I'll (hopefully) get my image back up. Looks kinda naked without those flowers up there.
Have been working on and off on my block for the contest--right now I'm on my third iteration of it. I am really quite excited about how I think it's going to turn out! It's just proving to have a learning curve to it. If I can get this little technique to work the way I want it to, I am planning to make my first blog tutorial for my little method!! So my fingers are crossed both for the contest ('cause the block is going to be cool) and for coming up with something new and interesting that I can make a tutorial for!
The family and I went to a local mall (not to shop--I think I'll do almost anything to avoid shopping unless it is in a quilt shop or a grocery store) and saw the *best* light show! The Promenade in Bolingbrook is presenting "Symphony in Lights." It is set to music from the Trans-Siberian Orchestra (which is great stuff!). Here is a little video snippet from the show--this tree is about 40 feet tall. The kids just loved it--had a great time running around and dancing! (Postscript: I have uploaded this twice--which takes a long time--I can't figure out why it is sideways! Will try to figure out what I'm doing wrong, but for now, please just tip your head to your right and enjoy the music and lights!)

I can see flowers in your banner...perhaps it's a problem with IE...I'm using Firefox...either that or blogger have fixed it.
I, too, can see flowers on your banner, but they are partially cut off. I'm using Firefox.
Google/Blogspot messed up my blogger header too; it's okay if I put the title and description... but if I opt for image instead of, my image widens out double to what it is normally.
