This lovely Jacobean-style print was just so pretty to me that I bought a lot of it when I found it! I'll have enough for the whole back of the quilt to be done in this, too!I have to confess I gave myself today off--pretty much all I did was putter in the "studio." My excuse is that last evening after dinner I was playing with the kids on the play set in the back yard. While trying to climb down this ladder, the plastic handle I was holding on to broke (!) and I fell probably about 7 or 8 feet to land on my back/right side. Ouch.

Knocked the wind out of me something awful. I'm so grateful it was me who fell because of the broken handle and not one of the kids--thank heaven for that. But I sure was sore this morning. As the day has gone on, the pain has resolved to mostly a sprained right arm and a sore right buttock. :)
Of course it is mildly amusing in retrospect that as I lay there trying to get my diaphragm to start working normally again so I can catch a breath, my kids are just chattering away and continuing to play like absolutely not a thing was wrong in the world! Never mind that Mom is laying in the grass making funny sounds. They must think I'm Wonder Woman and can survive such events without even mussing my hair. I guess that is part of being a Mom: to your kids, you do handle everything! From making boo boos better to keeping the sun coming up each morning. It's just another day in the life of Wonder Woman.

oh my! glad you are ok,,, and yes, it is much better you than the kids, but the kids probably would have just jumped up and gone on -- they are SO tough!

Oh poor you. No wonder you didn't feel up to doing anything yesterday. I hope you are feeling better now.
love and hugs xxx
Kids have such good observational skills don't they!! Hope you are on the mend soon!
Hope you are feeling better soon. I'm sure glad you aren't hurt any worse. You deserved a day in the studio.
It is amazing what kids 'see' and don't 'see'... like Mommy laying on the ground in pain. Glad you are ok. Sounds like you deserved a 'vacation' day to play in the studio.
