I have hit pins before, but have never seen one bend quite like this! My poor Janome 6600--this one shattered the needle and made such a loud scary noise that I really jumped and my hand flipped my magnetic pin cushion up in the air off the table and when it landed, the pins flew everywhere!DH and I had a funny "scary" thing happen a few nights ago--I was downstairs in my "studio" sewing and watching a movie: it was "Signs" with Mel Gibson and Joaquin Phoenix. It's the story about aliens coming to Earth--they're hiding out in Mel's corn field and in the neighbor's pantry. You know the one. So, I'm working on my quilt--all alone-- and the movie is getting creepy, and I decide to head upstairs so as not to get stuck in the basement alone all creeped out. So I ran upstairs, closed the window shades in our room and popped onto the bed to watch the end of the movie with DH. He and I are watching, and it's the scene where they're in the cellar..........and all of a sudden the dang window shade snaps up!!!!! MAN did I scream and DH jumped up!! We're still chuckling over it! :)

You and your hubby must have had a good chuckle after , thats why I don't watch scary movies LOL .
That reminds me of a story my husband told me while we were dating (ok, I'll be showing my age here....). We went to the theater to see The Exorcist (1973). We were not really taking life all too seriously then, and we laughed all the way through the movie out of stupidity, probably. My sweetie lived in a rented mobile home, and after the movie, had taken me home, and returned home himself. He had run water in the bathroom sink, then settled into bed. The bathroom was right next to his bedroom, and just as he was getting comfortable, he heard this AWEFUL LOUD slushing, slurping sound, and he just about jumped out of his skin. I think he put the pillow over his head and wouldn't look out until daylight.
I think he may have taken the movie about being possessed by a demon a little more seriously than I did at the time.
Today, with my Christian beliefs, I would never had even considered watching a movie like that.

Oh connie..that Pin...I've had one just like that and it's no good!!! Re-check your 1/4" seam, your needle dealie might be off a tad.
I don't know whether to laugh or cry first!
Cry, because that pin looks like it might have caused some serious damage on your beautiful Janome...or
laugh because I did, after reading your story about you and your DH.
I can remember watching Carrie when I was in college for a film study class and we chuckled our way through the whole movie..until the end when 30 18 year olds screamed...if you have seen the movie you'll know what I'm talking about..all these years later I can't help but wonder what the students in the hallway must have thought of the screams...did they think the teacher announced a pop quiz?!
