You may be asking what the B.O.M. has to do with lawn work....well, I figured if I was good today and really contributed to house upkeep, then I could go to the shop tomorrow and feel no guilt (or at least not a lot) about buying some yardage of the background fabric and maybe a fat quarter or two for putting the blocks together into a top once the program is done. So I took advantage of a fairly mild day and mowed the whole yard, raked leaves and grass, used the leaf blower to clean up the front yard, trimmed shrubs--the yard is looking good right now!
My daughter was "helping." She's four, curious about *everything* and just loves to muddle around with stuff. She jumped in leaf piles, raked rocks out the front beds (!), and when I wasn't looking, unzipped the leaf blower bag and started pulling out all the mulched leaves and making a pile on the driveway!!! That's when she got sent inside
So here is block one:

And here is block two:

This 30's stuff is growing on me. Can't wait to see what colors/prints they will have chosen for tomorrow's block.

I'm currently working on Egg Money by Eleanor Burns. I don't get the 30's fabrics either but I'm using them. Hopefully they'll grow on me. It's out of the box for me too!
