1930's B.O.M. 5

Finished block 5 today--I just could not get into sewing for some reason! My quilt "November Nova" is going back to the long arm quilter for its touch up on Wed. morning--she's just going to do it while I wait, so I'll be able to start on the binding, sleeve, and label......finally!

The kids were off from school today and even though I was kind of under the weather, my Mom and I took them to Ikea and let them go into the play area while we walked around for an hour. Those two LOVE the play area! Today I noticed something I haven't noticed before in the play area: The two sides of the play section (check in and check out) are equipped with these huge steel rolling doors!! I mean, these are mammoth doors. I have been pondering why they would put such giant doors to seal off a kids play area.....I have some theories but they aren't too pleasant. Mom said they were fire doors, but would you want to seal kids into a confined area during a fire? There is no other exit from that section that I can see. It just seemed like such an incongruous juxtaposition: a ball pit and "Mary Poppins" on the video right alongside these two humongous roll down steel doors. Weird.
