1. NEW RECIPES: Tried one new recipe--homemade sauerkraut soup. I know it doesn't *sound* good, but nothing beats a hot bowl of this soup. Being half Lithuanian, I was raised on this but oddly never tried making it myself! And now I have (lucky for me, despite being Italian, DH likes this stuff!)
2. ORGANIZING: I have made some good progress--cleaned out my son's whole room, cleaned out my closet (now THAT was a purge! so long old clothes!), and have started a major clean out/organization of my "studio." I have begun paring down my sizeable stash of embroidery supplies (I used to do needlework before I found quilting) and I have decided to try and sell some of my needlework gear on E-bay. I have never sold anything on E-bay before--bought stuff, yes, but have never sold stuff. Any funds that are generated from this effort are going into my savings for a quilt frame. (Go E-bay Go! Mama needs a Hinterberg!)
3. FAMILY PHOTOS: I did scour the house and pull together in one place all the photos I could find. No work yet on making them chronological and getting them into albums, but it's coming!
4. I am writing a pattern for "November Nova." Not sure what (if anything) will come of this quilt in the contest--I think results of the second round of judging are due Feb. 11.
5. and 6. No progress to report.
7. I think I have been sick more than healthy this year--very frustrating. Someone once told me when your kids get into school, kiss your health goodbye for a few years. It seems to be coming true. They are sick for a couple days, I am down for a week or more. HOWEVER, I have been on the treadmill this month (here's proof)........
just not as much as I want to or should--need to work seriously on that in the upcoming months if I want a real shot at achieving this goal. I am very conscientious about salt intake--need to keep working on other dietary considerations. So, that's my self check on resolutions for this month!
