Welcome 2008!

Happy New Year to all! We had a very low-key transition from 2007 to 2008. Went to see "Enchanted" in the afternoon yesterday--GREAT movie! I think DH and I liked it more than the kids did! Last night the kids had sparkling grape juice (kiddie champagne) and we all had some appetizers. DH blew off some big fireworks early for the kids (very cool) and we enjoyed the snow from the comfort of our home.
Went out sledding this morning to ring in the new year and then out to lunch at Steak and Shake--it was a lot of fun!! My kids definitely take after their father: they love the snow. I am more of a warm weather kind of gal while DH is a snowmobile guy. Good thing opposites attract. But anyway, the kids love being out in the swirling snow going pell-mell (there's a word you don't hear to often) down the hills. The one time I went down on the old-fashioned Rocket Plane sled with my daughter, we were headed for some unsuspecting kid on a plastic dish at what felt like 60 m.p.h.......I had to wipe us out so as not to send this kid to the hospital! I ended up breaking a wood slat on our sled and I bent one of the metal rails.......now I have a nice big bruise on my left thigh (darling daughter was fine, thought it was all fun).......but that unknown kid will live to sled another day!
Time for resolutions. I may tweak these a bit over the next day or so, but essentially this is the bones of my grand plan for 2008. See the list at the bottom of the blog. My only regret at the outset of this new year is that I did not get to sew today.....but hey, I have 364 more days to do that, right?
