I am shaking like a leaf right now!!! I just found out that my submission to the "Done in One (Weekend, that is!)" contest GOT PICKED AS ONE OF THE 12 FINALISTS!!!!!!! I am so happy!!!! This entry is my original design "November Nova." I would love to post a picture right now but I am reining myself in because they noted in the contest rules that some entries may be used in future magazine issues. So, to not get entangled in any copyright debacles (been there, done that), I am just going to have to force myself to be patient and wait to share the quilt with you!
I wonder how many entries they received?? Maybe I'll send an e-mail to the contest coordinator tomorrow and ask that question. So, now I will send it in to them for the second round of judging (the initial submission was all photos). The grand prize is (drum roll please!) a trip to Tampa, FL! And there are other cool prizes, too. Happy dance, happy dance, happy dance!!!!! This is the first time I've entered a commercial quilting contest!! Wow--I think I need a glass of wine to settle my nerves a bit--I have some job-related work I need to do tonight and I definitely need to get myself out of the clouds and focus on that for a while! Phew--keep breathing Connie!
And even if I don't win one of the prizes, my quilt will be travelling this year to all the Original Sewing & Quilt Expo events around the country, and that is very cool, too! I told my kids that "Mama's quilt got picked in a contest" and my daughter's response was "Wow! you might win some Gummi Lifesavers!" She has her priorities straight!
So, thanks for letting me blab on and on here--I need to go work on dinner and try to settle down some! Wooooooo hoooooooooo!!!!!

Wow, Connie! That is totally awesome! I am very happy for you and I can't wait to see the picture of this awesome quilt! And I went back and read you post about you last pattern. What a piece of work that quilter was! I am glad that you fought and won to have to take the pattern off her site and out of the store!
